Genesis 41:1-44
God has shown King Pharaoh what he was about to do through his dreams
But magicians, wise men, nobody was able to explain the meaning of those dreams
And King Pharaoh is anxious about those dreams
Seeing all these Chief cupbearer finally remembers Joseph and tells King Pharaoh about him
Then immediately Joseph was released from prison and was bought to King Pharaoh
Then Joseph says "I cannot do it, but God will give Pharaoh the answer he desires".
Here we can observe instead of taking credit Joseph is bringing Glory to God
Joseph explains the meaning of two dreams to King Pharaoh
There’s a lot of preference for dreams in Joseph's life
When Joseph was young he dreamt two dreams and listening to them his brothers thought if we kill this dreaming fellow then those dreams won’t come true and they sold him
Later when the cupbearer and the baker had dreams he explained to them that one was going to die and another was going to get their job back
Now Pharaoh dreamt two dreams but their meaning is the same
In these dreams, God shows priorly what is happening to Egypt in future
To make Joseph's childhood dreams come true Pharaoh must be shown what is going to happen now
That's why His deeds are awestruck
In Joseph's life, there are amazing twists
Joseph explained to Pharaoh that in 7 years there will be plenty of food and in 7 years there will be hunger in Egypt
So Pharaoh tell Joseph only to take responsibility to take care of storing plenty of food in 1st 7 years
Genesis 41:38-43
Pharoah made Joseph in charge of his place because:
1. Can we find anyone like this man, one in whom is the spirit of God? (Genesis 41:37)
2. God has made all this known to you (Genesis 41:39)
3. There is no one so discerning and wise as you (Genesis 41:39)
4. You shall be in charge of my palace (Genesis 41:40)
5. All my people are to submit to your orders (Genesis 41:40)
6. Only concerning the throne will I be greater than you
(Genesis 41:40)
7. I hereby put you in charge of the whole land of Egypt (Genesis 41:41)
8. Then Pharoah took his signet ring from his finger and put it on Joseph's finger (Genesis 41:42)
9. He dressed him in robes of fine linen and put a gold chain around his neck (Genesis 41:42)
10. Pharaoh put a gold chain around Joseph's neck (Genesis 41:42)
11. He had him ride in a chariot as his second-in-command (Genesis 41:43)
12. People shouted (Genesis 41:43)
Joseph received such honour because from his childhood he was fearful of God
He was a disciplined kid
1. He did not join in his brother's evil deeds
2. He did not give place to sin at his young age
Even though he was thrown in the cistern, sold, or kept in prison he did not leave his righteousness
3. As he was loyal he was made in charge of Potiphar's house
4. In prison he was made a supervisor
5. In the end he became in charge of the whole of Egypt
6. Not just King Pharaoh took the whole responsibility of Joseph and got him married
As you can see here Joseph was 30 years old, and when he was sent to Egypt he was 17 years old which means 13 years Joseph lived as a slave in Egypt.
But wherever he was kept he was loyal in his work
Now he became in charge of the whole of Egypt
He visited the whole country and stored food when it was plenty available
We can say this is the first time ever initiation of the Food Corporation
Joseph is the one who started the Food Corporation, Material Exchange, Market Yards, Taxation
We can see storehouses (ration shops) were opened to sell grains
