Today's let's learn about Joseph (Part - 2), we had part 1 on our website already go check it out
In part - 1 we learnt about Joseph's parents, Joseph was punished by his brothers for being loyal, for dreaming, though he carried food for his brothers travelling a long distance, his jealous brothers sold him.
Now Midianites sold Joseph in Egypt to Potiphar one of Pharaoh's officials, the captain of the guard (Genesis 37:36)
This Potiphar's post is like Military commander
Greek people named Egypt. They are descendants of Ham. Hebrews called it Mizraim
(Genesis 10:6)
Now Joseph had been taken down to Egypt to Potiphar's house as he bought him and he is an Egyptian
(Genesis 39:1)
God the Father was with Joseph so he was prospered and lived in his master's house in Egypt
(Genesis 39:2)
His master saw that Lord was with Joseph so he put Joseph in charge of his household and he entrusted to his care everything he owned
(Genesis 39:3-4)
So dear amigos, when God is with us He will bless us and even others see how much God is blessing each of one us
Because of Joseph God blessed an Egyptian
- His household was blessed
- His fields were blessed
- Whatever he owned everything was blessed
Potiphar is one of the Pharaoh's officials, he is the head of his guards. The person who is in such a great position kept Joseph in charge of everything he owns
Such a privilege right?
Do you know why Joseph was given that priority?
It's because God was with him
He entered his home as a slave but with God's abundant blessings he was made in charge
Joseph was a seventeen-year-old teenager abandoned by his brothers, but God did not leave nor forsake him.
When he was a slave, he went through so many struggles, he lived as a foreigner, away from his people, amid people who speak different languages and follow different cultures, but he was blessed to be in a high position.
Even when we put trust in God and live as God-fearing people God will bless us in ways we cannot even imagine
