Firstly wishing you all a very Happy and prosperous New Year.
Last week we've seen about the importance of the Guest room, which Joseph and Mary have visited in Bethlehem.
Today let's about the Tribe which God chose, 'The chosen Tribe'.
Leah and Jacob are the parents of Judah.
The meaning of Leah is a wild cow, who was unloved, she faced so many troubles.
As she was unloved by her husband and everyone and faced many troubles God saw her and gifted her children so she Praised God and named her 4th son Judah.
The meaning of Jacob is to follow, to be behind, the man who took his brother's place.
When Isaac prayed about Rebekah God answered his prayer, and she became pregnant. (GENESIS 25:21)
Jacob was blessed in the womb.
GENESIS 25:23
THE LORD SAID TO HER, "TWO NATIONS ARE IN YOUR WOMB, AND TWO PEOPLES FROM WITHIN YOU WILL BE SEPARATED; ONE PEOPLE WILL BE STRONGER THAN THE OTHER, AND THE OLDER WILL SERVE THE YOUNGER.
Jacob came us by following his brother, Esau.
GENESIS 25:26
AFTER THIS, HIS BROTHER CAME OUT, WITH HIS HAND GRASPING ESAU'S HEEL. SO HE WAS NAMED JACOB.
Jacob means grasps the heel, who deceives.
But he was loved by his mother (GENESIS 25:28)
GENESIS 25:29-34
Jacob gave some bread and some lentil stew and took birthright from Esau.
GENESIS 27:1-29
Jacob deceived his father, lied to him pretending to be his brother, Esau by wrapping goatskin around his arms so he would feel hairy like his brother Esau and took all blessing from Isaac.
GENESIS 27:41
ESAU HELD A GRUDGE AGAINST JACOB BECAUSE OF THE BLESSING HIS FATHER HAD GIVEN HIM.
GENESIS 28:2-4
Jacob was sent to Paddan Aram to the house where his mother's father Bethuel by his parents to stay there, and blessed him, "May God Almighty bless you and make you fruitful and increase your numbers until you become a community of peoples. May he give you and your descendants the blessing given to Abraham, so that you may take possession of the land where you now reside as a foreigner, the land God gave to Abraham.
GENESIS 28:10-22
In the middle of his way, when he was resting he had a dream in which he saw a stairway resting on the earth. And he made a vow saying, "and this stone that I have set up as a pillar will be God's house, and of all that you give me I will give you a tenth."
After reaching Paddan Aram, he married his uncle's daughters and got 12 children and earned so much property. (GENESIS 29 - 30 CHAPTERS)
He headed back to his place with his wives, children, donkeys, sheep.
On his way, he met Angels of God so he named that place Mahanaim.
The meaning of Mahanaim is two camps.
GENESIS 32:11-12
SAVE ME, I PRAY, FROM THE HAND OF MY BROTHER ESAU, FOR I AM AFRAID HE WILL COME AND ATTACK ME, AND ALSO THE MOTHERS WITH THEIR CHILDREN.
12. BUT YOU HAVE SAID, 'I WILL SURELY MAKE YOU PROSPER AND WILL MAKE YOUR DESCENDANTS LIKE THE SAND OF THE SEA, WHICH CANNOT BE COUNTED.
He is praying with fear because he was deceived, he changed his attire, he received blessings.
But he was afraid that he may be killed by Esau.
He sent gifts for Esau's mercy,
200 female goats
20 male goats
200 ewes
20 rams
30 female camels
40 cows
10 bulls
20 female donkeys
10 male donkeys.
He put them in the care of his servants, each herd by itself. He instructed his servants to pacify his brother Esau.
He sent over all his possessions across the stream, Jabbok.
GENESIS 32:24
JACOB WAS LEFT ALONE, AND A MAN WRESTLED WITH HIS TILL DAYBREAK.
He told Him, "I will not let you go unless you bless me".
The man whom Jacob held asked him, "What is your name?"
He answered, "Jacob."
Meaning of Jacob is circumvented.
He accepted that he deceived people before God, he repented before God.
PSALMS 32:5
THEN I ACKNOWLEDGED MY SIN TO YOU AND DID NOT COVER UP MY INIQUITY.
Jacob acknowledged his sin before God so He blessed him.
GENESIS 32:28
THEN THE MAN SAID, "YOUR NAME WILL NO LONGER BE JACOB, BUT ISRAEL BECAUSE YOU HAVE STRUGGLED WITH GOD AND WITH HUMANS AND HAVE OVERCAME.
Israel - wrestles with God.
Then He blessed him there. (GENESIS 32:29)
GENESIS 32:30
SO JACOB CALLED THE PLACE PENIEL, SAYING, "IT IS BECAUSE I SAW GOD FACE TO FACE, AND YET MY LIFE WAS SPARED.
The meaning of Peniel - Face of God.
GENESIS 33:3-4
3. HE HIMSELF WENT ON AHEAD AND BOWED DOWN TO THE GROUND SEVEN TIMES AS HE APPROACHED HIS BROTHER.
4. BUT ESAU RAN TO MEET JACOB AND EMBRACED HIM; HE THREW HIS ARMS AROUND HIS NECK AND KISSED HIM. AND THEY WEPT.
If we want blessings from God, we have to leave every one of the possessions we have in this world and repent before God, then He will shower His abundant blessings upon us.
Judah is the son of the man who received blessings from God and the woman who was unloved by people yet received blessings from God.
God chose this tribe and came into this earth.
Jesus was born int he family where they acknowledged their sins and praised God.
Whoever does not cover up their iniquity and acknowledge their sins before God, and who praise and worship God, to relent from their sins, disease, temptations, fear and to give Salvation of God came into this earth.
May the blessings of the Almighty God be upon us all. Amen!
